Power Home Remodeling Windows Reviews

Power home remodeling reviews, sales tactics and lawsuit

Here we have Power Home Remodeling windows reviews along with other customer feedback about this company. We’ll look at their sales tactics, a class action lawsuit and the prices that they charge for their windows. Is this the best company for you to work with? Let’s find out.

As we get started it’s important to note that my company competes with Power Home Remodeling in some markets. We operate with completely different business models, but we’re offering similar products so feel free to take that for what it’s worth.

Power Home Remodeling Sales Tactics

The sales tactics used by Power Home Remodeling and their team of in-home salespeople are part of what makes them famous in the industry. To be clear, I’ve never received an in-home quote from them myself. My info is based on feedback we’ve received from real customers including a friend of mine. You can also contribute to that knowledge by sharing your experience in the comments below.

From what we’ve heard the Power salespeople can be the type to start off with very high prices and then lower the price as you keep saying no. They’ll typically approach you by knocking on your door or walking up to you in a box store. These are usually not the best ways to start a relationship with a contractor, but regular folks usually don’t know that.

You can see a real quote that one of our readers sent in later on in this post. That’ll give you a good idea of the window prices that Power is usually charging.

Power Home Remodeling Lawsuit

You may have also heard of a class action lawsuit involving Power Home Remodeling. This type of thing is never great for the company and it might be an indication of how they treat their customers. Their lawsuit was from a few years ago and it’s enlightening.

The case we’re aware of involved Power’s marketing folks making repeated unsolicited calls to cell phones of people who did not want these messages. If you’ve ever received a call about your car’s extended warranty you know what these calls are like.

Repeatedly pestering your potential customers to the point that they join together to sue you isn’t a great business strategy. In my opinion that might be an indication of what they think about their customers, just my opinion.

The court ruled that if the settlement had been higher it would have run the risk of putting Power out of business, that’s not great. Here’s the clip showing that:

Of course there always could be another side to that story and if you have any more info on it please post a comment below. The total settlement fund was listed at $5.2 million, so that’s a lot. You can find info on this case here.

Window Prices

When you’re comparing window prices it’s important to remember that remodeling projects can present unique challenges and the scope of work can be significantly different from one order to the next. It’s also true that retail pricing for custom made windows can vary quite a bit from one project to the next based on the features and options that a customer picks.

That said, here’s a quote one of our readers received. It’s 38 windows for almost $38,000 or just under $1000 per window installed.

Do you have a quote from Power Home Remodeling that you’d like to share? Post a comment to let us know and we’ll send you an email to follow up. Transparency is the best way to make this industry easier to navigate, in my humble opinion.

How can you get a second opinion quote?

If you recently signed a contract with Power for new windows and you’re not sure if it’s a great deal, we can help. In most states you have three business days to cancel an in-home purchase so you should act fast. You can get an online quote by email from my company here. It doesn’t hurt to see what the alternative would be.

One of our reps will send you an email with an itemized price list and additional product info. From there they can answer any questions and make unlimited revisions until you have the order just the way you want it.

It’s the easiest way to get new windows and the best way to make sure you’re paying a fair price for your project. If my company doesn’t offer windows in your area you can find other recommendations here.

What should you do if you think I’m wrong about something?

That’s easy, just post a comment below and let us know. It’s always my objective to share facts as I know them to be true and my opinions. If you think I’ve missed the mark on anything I would LOVE to hear from you. Please post a comment and I may follow up by email too. Thanks for taking the time to contribute to the site!
