I live in Wichita, Kansas and you don’t have a company in Wichita. Can you tell me which brands provide the “Best Value”. Looking for double hung. My house is 32 years old and we have double pane windows now. Do they lose their efficiency over time?
We can offer windows in Wichita, just not installation. Let me know if I can help. Windows should not lose their efficiency over time. Sometimes people are worried about argon gas leaking out. Remember that if the gas leaked out something else needs to fill that space. Air would fill that space, it would bring humidity with it and you’d get condensation inside the glass. Most all companies cover that under the warranty so it would get replaced. There isn’t much risk of the windows getting less efficient and you not knowing about it. Good luck with the project.
I have a unique problem. I need to replace 1 picture window in my home. It is approximately 3 feet high by 6 feet wide. I don’ t know the exact measurements because it is in my entry way about 16 feet above the floor. I’ve had 3 window companies visit and none of them will measure the window. They just want to sell me a window without measuring it! My situation is complicated because I live in a maintenance provided townhouse with an HOA. My HOA will only let me use their contractor to install the window. They expect me to find a company to measure and sell me a replacement window. Then I must use the HOA’s contractor to install it. I told them I have tried several window companies and none of them will measure and sell me a window without installation. My HOA says I’m not trying hard enough, but they cannot refer me to any company that will do it. Can you help? Thank you.
