Sprouse Windows Reviews

spouse windows reviews warranty and prices

If you’re looking for Sprouse windows reviews we can help. Sprouse is a vinyl window manufacturer located in West Virginia. They make Earthwise windows which is a brand we’ve written about in the past.

They’ve been in business since the 1970’s and they talk a lot about innovative features. Is there really anything unique about Sprouse windows? Let’s find out.

Anytime I see a vinyl window company talking about their special unique features I’m always a little skeptical. Usually you see those claims and they’re not referencing anything that is actually unique.

It looks like that’s the case for Sprouse windows. They talk about being unique but the features they list aren’t unique at all. For example, they talk about an integrated j-channel which is a very common feature in new construction vinyl windows.

They also talk about a true sloped sill. That’s a nice feature and it’s also commonly used on many windows.

The same looks to be true with their efficiency packages. They seem to be perfectly fine, but not at all unique.

So, when you’re reading about Sprouse windows reviews keep in mind that their claims to have unique features don’t seem to hold up.

What colors are available for Sprouse windows?

Here you can see the color options for these windows. The standard colors are pretty limited but they do offer custom colors.

Sprouse windows colors and reviews

You’ll see I frequently suggest avoiding custom colors as they can be problematic down the road. If you need a replacement sash in 5 years it could be expensive to get that with the custom color and if Sprouse is gone by then it would be even harder.

You’ll likely find it’s much easier to repaint your trim or doors or anything else to match a standard window color than it would be to deal with a custom window color.

Is the Sprouse windows warranty any good?

Interestingly I couldn’t find a copy of their written warranty on their website. That’s a little strange for a window manufacturer. If you’re thinking about buying these windows you should definitely ask for a copy and read it.

They say they have a lifetime warranty in the brochures but without reading the actual warranty it’s nearly impossible to tell what that means.

What’s the bottom line?

Sprouse makes perfectly fine windows. If you were my buddy asking me which windows to buy Sprouse would probably not be the option I would recommend.

I don’t have any particular problem with them, but there’s nothing unique or remarkable about the windows so I don’t think it’s a good idea to take a gamble on them. We’ve seen many small manufacturers go out of business and that leaves all of their customers with no warranty or access to replacement parts. You don’t want to be in that position.

How can you find a great window company?

When shopping for windows I do always suggest finding a great installation company before you fall in love with any particular window model. There are plenty of great window options out there but not as many local companies that are great to work with.

To know which companies to avoid you can find common window sales tactics here. That’s become one of the most popular sections on the site. You can also find the most detailed window reviews on the internet here.

Sprouse Windows; Worst Decision I Ever Made. Replaced Six Windows, September 2019.
January 2021, 3 failed to Close Properly. All were replaced by original installer, with re-installation fees charged. May 2022, another window fails to remain in up position. To date, February 2023, Sprouse refuses to send replacement window, deferring to original installer, Supreme Windows of Cleveland, Ohio. Supreme indicates window is defective and cannot get Sprouse to send replacement.
Result; DO NOT BUY SPROUSE WINDOWS of West Virginia.
