Morgantown, PA. Viwinco windows are custom made in PA where the have a manufacturing facility and a glass facility.
David J Barnes. David is the owner and president of Viwinco windows.
Yes. Viwinco windows come with a lifetime warranty. That’s a pretty common type of warranty in the window business. The devil is sometimes in the details. The warranty from Viwinco covers the windows, including the insulated glass unit for as long as the purchaser owns and lives in the house. The warranty can be transferred one time and when transferred it becomes a 20 year warranty. There is 1 year of labor coverage.
The biggest risk in this warranty is that Viwinco could go away. They are a relatively small manufacturer and if they were to go away you would likely have no warranty at all.
They’re decent. The features you get in a window from Viwinco are pretty typical. There’s nothing that we’ve seen that is particularly unique about them. The risk in buying windows from a small manufacturer like Viwinco is that they could close up shop one day with very little notice and then there would be no access to service or replacement parts. In our opinion the risk of working with smaller manufacturers like this is often undervalued by the customer.
Yes. Viwinco windows offers the same basic types of efficiency options that you’ll see from many manufacturers. The windows can easily be Energy Star certified and they’re about as efficient as most any other window.
Yes. Viwinco windows are vinyl and vinyl windows are generally very durable. Vinyl is the most popular material compared to other options like fiberglass, composite or aluminum. Vinyl is more popular because it is durable, energy efficient and cost effective.
Viwinco windows are custom made so it will take some time for the windows to come in. In 2022 many window manufacturers are backed up with greater demand than usual. We would expect you’ll be able to see Viwinco windows in 2-3 months. Be sure to ask your salesperson about current timing if that is an issue for you. You should also ask what happens if the expected timeline is not met. Sometimes window salespeople will make claims that are not realistic in order to get a contract signed.
Pricing for custom made windows like Viwinco windows will vary a lot based on the options you pick, the nature of your installation and the commission that the salesman wants to make. I would expect you’ll see Viwinco windows in the $700-$1000 per window range including installation.
Viwinco windows are available in a very limited color palette. You can get the window frame in white, tan or clay. Then exterior colors can be added in black or bronze. Keep in mind the black or bronze colors will add a decent amount to the cost.
No. Many years ago Viwinco did make windows for CertainTeed. Viwinco stopped making CertainTeed windows quite a while ago. CertainTeed windows are now made by Mi windows, also in PA.

I purchased two Viminco High Impact Patio doors and had them installed 14 months ago.Just recently not one but both door had the operating panel blow into my home in a 10 day period. There were high winds on both occasions and they were on the third floor. The Viwinco patio doors which were installed recently ( not high impact ) located on the second floor had no issues. After the second door blew in the rep who did return my call promptly and came out 8 days later to inspect the door. His ruling was the door was not adjusted properly. The thought never crossed his mind that a property management company put the panel in place in order to water tite my home followed by a contractor placing a sheet of plywood over the door for wind protection. I can tell you that before the incident the door was not installed like the version he saw. Being in the construction industry my entire life along with owning my own manufacturing business I was disappointed at their defensive altitude followed by an insulting letter by the regional salesman. As a consumer of their product I do not hear how far the rep had to traveled would of expected better communication.
