The Reliabilt window brand is made by Atrium windows and then rebranded as ReliaBilt for sale in Lowes stores. Atrium is already a lower end option and then they make a very low end product for sale through a box store.

Is the ReliaBilt Windows warranty any good?

The warranty is actually better than you might expect. The ReliaBilt windows have optional labor coverage and glass breakage coverage for as long as you own the house. If that’s important to you be sure it’s included in your order. There are drawbacks, for example the warranty on the insulated glass unit is prorated after 15 years which is something you don’t see from most nicer replacement windows.

The warranty comes from Atrium, the manufacturer of the ReliaBilt windows which is a good thing. Atrium is owned by Ply Gem and they’re a very large operation. That means it’s likely they’re not going away anytime soon.

You should also note that the warranty for commercial properties or rental houses is only 10 years. Most manufacturers have more limited warranties for commercial properties so that’s not too unusual. It is something you’ll want to understand so you’re not disappointed later.

What’s the bottom line?

Frequent readers of the site know that I frequently recommend working with larger window manufacturers. ReliaBilt windows are backed by a large company but they’re still not a product line I would recommend.

These windows are just designed to be cheap which means they’re not designed to be nice. They are often in stock at Lowes stores which could come in handy. If you need a window immediately to put into a shed they might be just fine. Other than an application like that I’d look elsewhere.

You used the words “cheap” and “not nice”. That’s really not a constructive review. Do you mean cheap as in they frequently fail by not opening and closing fully or just that they are inexpensive? What does “not nice”mean? Are they rough to the touch, the glass looks foggy, or do they say mean things to you? Seriously, this was as vague a review as I’ve ever read.

If you see one in person you’d understand what I mean. They’re just really low end windows. The sample I had in my videos had a rattling sash, horrible welds, noisy operation, very limited options, at best average efficiency.

Box stores are really not a good place to buy windows. These windows can be cheap and if you’re putting one in a shed or something it might make sense, but this is not a window line I would put in my house.

This morning, I had ice on the inside of some of my windows. Yes, I said inside. These windows were placed less than 6 years ago. I’m advising others to stay away from Reliabuilt.

  3. Betty S. Riley says:

Do not by these Reliabilt windows! I got mine in 2018 and just now noticed a lot of around coming in around them. I had to put duck tape on to keep some air out. I don’t know how to fix them without buying new windows. I am not happy with them!

  4. Mark Dawson says:

Had 8 windows replaced with reliabuilt through Lowe’s and have zero problems with them .they are now 3 years old. I guess time will tell if they’re decent, or we got lucky.
