If you’re looking for NewSouth windows reviews we can help. New South Window Solutions had been one of the typical direct to consumer window companies. They did the whole “we make our own windows” sales pitch that you see from one or two companies in almost every city.
Those companies are usually not the best deal around and it looks like the same was true for NewSouth windows.
In 2020 NewSouth was bought out by PGT Windows
This was a bit of a surprising move. Typically PGT windows had been a more typical wholesale manufacturer selling their products through dealers all over Florida. They had been expanding out of Florida, but it seemed that was the bulk of their business.
We had seen a lot of negative feedback from customers regarding product quality and service from PGT. It’s hard to say if that’s evidence of a problem of just a handful of issues that you might see from any manufacturer. You can see the comments on this page to see what I’m talking about.
With the acquisition of NewSouth, PGT is in the retail window business which means they’re competing with their wholesale customers. That can be a tricky situation. I’m not sure how well it’ll work out in the long run.
Will their wholesale customers keep buying from PGT now that they’re competing with their own supplier? Only time will tell.
Are NewSouth windows any good?
They look perfectly fine, but I don’t see anything remarkable about them. NewSouth talks about using non-metallic spacers in the glass which is a pretty common option.
They also talk about meeting Florida efficiency requirements which are also very easy for modern windows to meet.
You will see promotions like this for NewSouth which, in my mind, is a sure sign they’re not offering a great deal. We’ve written about promotions like this in the past. In my mind they should be illegal, but they’re not so companies keep doing them.
I’ve never seen a company that uses fake sales like these to actually offer a good deal on windows. I think ads like this are a clear sign that you might want to look elsewhere.

What about New South windows prices?
Based on the info I’ve reviewed from a reader of the site it looks like they’re using some of the old fashioned sales strategies that we’ve written about before. For example, you can see this New South windows quote where a customer was shown a “list price” and then almost a 50% discount if he were to sign today.
In my humble opinion that’s not typically a sign that you’re actually getting a good deal.
What’s the bottom line?
Based on the negative feedback we’ve seen about PGT windows and the silly advertising gimmicks I’d look elsewhere.

How can you find a great window company?
When shopping for windows I do always suggest finding a great installation company before you fall in love with any particular window model. There are plenty of great window options out there but not as many local companies that are great to work with.
To know which companies to avoid you can find common window sales tactics here. That’s become one of the most popular sections on the site.
Remember, for more great window company info you can find our suggestions for the best local companies in 2022 right here. There’s no need to work with a company that gives you the run-around or makes the process difficult. There are plenty of fish in the sea as they say. The best way to get started is to check out our list of great window companies here.

Honestly do you truly know a great window when you see one. New south’s window is a gimmick and they offer probably one of the best windows in vinyl using UPVC not virgin vinyl. I would take you to school on their window and I seriously doubt you have true knowledge about the Low E and Evantage 366 float glass. Not to mention their sashes meeting DP 60 having the thickest air craft grade aluminum inside. They have the most energy efficient glass made by cardinal and then their warranty is unmatched. Do you know about float glass and that process or the spacer system that you have reported incorrectly. No window is perfect but with New south you’re getting a top tier window with a top tier warranty and installation that is unmatched. You are bad for the industry simply because you like give zero credit when you have a great window right infront of you and instead you choose to focus on price, incorrect facts , and say zero about the quality of their window. New south did $180 million in sales last may year and if you knew anything about PGT you would know exactly the reason they purchased New south. You don’t understand the partnership between the 2 and how PGT was able to help Newsouth go from 2o million in sales annually to 180 mill in 2022. You really don’t understand windows do you. I challenge you to do an honest and real review on new south’s 9000 series. Make it right and my name is Doug !
Hi Doug, it sounds like you had a great time in training class recently. I hardly even know where to start.
Are you saying you think there aren’t dozens of other companies offering Cardinal glass?
Are you saying you think aircraft are not made with thicker aluminum? Or that the aluminum used in these windows is different than aluminum used in other windows?
Do you think every company doesn’t use float glass?
Do you really think the warranty is unmatched?
What exactly are you claiming are the advantages of uPVC vs virgin vinyl?
This comment certainly causes more questions than answers. I think it’s a pretty solid example of the strange info people can get from commission based in-home salespeople. I’d suggest the way to have sustained long term success as a window salesman is to focus on accurate and factual information.
It’s always our goal to be accurate so if we’re ever wrong about anything and you have any actual information to backup any claims I’m happy to see it.
