Wanted to let you know we just purchased Pella Impervia windows from Lowe’s. We did have to do it through the Pro Desk, but were also able to purchase them through their high volume program which allowed for significant savings.

  2. I’m comparing the Pella Impervia to the Okna StarMark Evo (I think it is also called the 800 but I’m not sure) to replace 13 windows and am having a difficult time deciding between the two; Pella is about $8k higher. Pella would be installed by Pella’s 1099 contractors; Okna would be installed by a local window company that seems to have a good reputation.

I can’t find any head to head comparisons. The Pella warranty is a bit better, they offer a better level of interior frame replacement options, and, of course, they have been around 100+ years. I feel like both would be good choices but is the Pella worth 40% more money?

Hi Alan, I think you might want to explore the options a bit more before making a decision. The Pella Impervia windows are fiberglass and the Starmark Evo are a composite option. Starmark is a strange brand. If you’re set on going that route you might want to see if there’s an Okna dealer in your area who could offer another option.

We tend to find most people pick vinyl windows after comparing the options for a variety of reasons. You’ll typically find they’ll offer a better value.

Where are you located? I might be able to make a suggestion.
